The Unite Show
The Unite Show is a district show based on themes of The Tonight Show that shows students, parents, and faculty the events around the ABC Unified School District. The Unite Show first premiered on May 9, 2006, on local Cerritos cable channel 6, Artesia RTA, as well as with Time Warner Cable local Public-access television cable TV channels in Lakewood, La Palma and Cypress. The Unite Show is a proud partner with the ABC Unified District Council PTA to bring The Unite Show to a greater ABC audience. The show was created by Colin Sprigg, Director of IT and Greg Porter, Television Production teacher at Tetzlaff Middle School, with Faye Ross Middle School schoolteacher Jim Keating hosting and Carmenita Middle School teacher Alan Hallback co-hosting. The Unite Show became a recipient of the Golden Bell Award in 2008, which is given to schools or other programs by the California School Boards Association for exemplary programs which focus on curriculum and instruction. The show is made possible by the overwhelming number of volunteer students, parents and district staff who contribute each month to the production of the show.
